ELITE Solar has commissioned its new 5GW integrated photovoltaic (PV) manufacturing facility in Egypt’s Suez Canal Economic Zone.
The facility, which integrates 2GW of solar cell production and 3GW of module assembly, is intended to supply utility-scale commercial and industrial clients worldwide.
Earlier this month, Egypt’s Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, attended the facility’s official commissioning ceremony.
The event highlighted the factory’s significance for Egypt’s renewable energy ambitions and efforts to develop its industrial base.
According to ELITE Solar, the site will contribute to workforce development and reinforce the region’s participation in international clean energy supply networks.
ELITE Solar USA CEO Arndt Lutz said: “This facility strengthens our global manufacturing footprint while reinforcing our commitment to dependable, market-ready solar supply.
“By combining advanced N-type technology with integrated production and disciplined execution, we are positioned to support our clients with consistent quality and long-term reliability across multiple markets.”
On 23 January, the company hosted regional customers, suppliers and industry partners at the Ain Sokhna site.
Attendees toured the N-type solar cell and module production lines and participated in discussions focused on supply chain coordination, production planning, local procurement opportunities and future cooperation.
The Ain Sokhna facility forms part of ELITE Solar’s wider global expansion plans.
By combining centralised technology oversight with regional manufacturing in key markets, the company aims to meet demand efficiently across areas including the Middle East, Africa, Europe and North America.
ELITE Solar was established in 2005 and is headquartered in Singapore, with a US presence in California.
In addition to its new Egyptian site, the company operates integrated manufacturing facilities in Vietnam and Indonesia.
