Hilary Duff is back… or did she ever really leave?
After years of starring on the small screen in series like Younger and How I Met Your Father, the Millennial actor, singer, author, and producer is returning to her musical roots with luck… or something, which drops on February 20, 2026, marking her first release in more than a decade.
In addition, Duff will headline “The Lucky Me World Tour,” which begins on June 22, 2026, and runs through 2027.
To build buzz for her album, in January 2026, Duff embarked on a mini-world tour that included stops in London, Toronto, Brooklyn, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. Tickets for the intimate shows sold out in seconds, proving that the former Disney star still has plenty of pop appeal.
A press release for Duff’s new album described it as “the romantic misadventures in her formative years,” but while Duff is always happy to reminisce on the era that made her a star — and a multi-millionaire — she spends most of the album’s tracks singing about motherhood, her family, and living rooted in the present.
After all, the relatable Tween Queen believes that adulthood is also worth exploring and celebrating, explaining to Glamour that “…I wanted to make something that I could connect with people again on the level of who I am now. I felt like people have definitely gone through some of the similar large strokes that I have in the past 10 to 15 years.”
So, what’s Duff’s net worth now?

As a teen, Duff basically wrote the script for transitioning scandal-free into adulthood, and she became one of Hollywood’s most bankable stars in the early 2000s through films like Agent Cody Banks, The Lizzie McGuire Movie, A Cinderella Story, and the Cheaper by the Dozen franchise.
In addition, Duff is estimated to have sold 15 million albums, blending pop, dance, and indie beats on albums such as Metamorphosis (2003), Hilary Duff (2004), Dignity (2007), and Breathe In. Breathe Out (2015). She also released a Christmas album in 2002, Santa Claus Lane.
Her talents as an actor and singer paved the way for future stars like Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez, who consider her a major influence. Duff herself drew inspiration from Britney Spears, though she admitted to People that she never considered herself a singer.
In the 2010s, Duff returned to TV, embracing lead roles in Younger (2015–2021) and How I Met Your Father (2022–2023), but she says she’s especially excited to return to music, telling Variety that she considers her new album to be “a really lovely victory lap.”
Hilary Duff’s early life and career
Hilary Erhard Duff was born on September 28, 1987, in Houston, Texas. Her father, Robert Duff, co-owned a chain of convenience stores in Houston, while her mother, Susan Colleen Duff, became Duff’s manager.
Duff has one older sister, Haylie, who is also an actor and singer. The two were close growing up and co-starred together in 2006’s Material Girls.
The sisters caught the acting bug at an early age and were both cast in local stage productions. Due to their budding interest in show business, Duff, her sister, and her mother relocated to Los Angeles in 1993. Duff later admitted she regretted missing out on having a “normal childhood,” but acting was her passion.
The two appeared in numerous TV commercials, but when Duff was just 11 years old, she was fired from a TV show that had replaced her with twins who could legally work longer hours. Duff was ready to pack it all in when her manager called her, saying Disney wanted to see her for the lead role of a new series, Lizzie McGuire.
“I walked in and I was super unprepared. It was like a monologue,” Duff revealed to People. Casting director Robin Lippin told her to come back the next day, after she had learned her lines better.
“I always kind of love a challenge,” Duff retorted, in true Lizzie-like fashion.
She got the part — and the rest was history.
Hilary Duff’s business ventures
For almost as long as she’s been in the spotlight, Duff has managed her brand:
- She launched a successful clothing line, Stuff by Hilary Duff, in 2003, which was sold by Target until 2009.
- She created multiple fragrances, including Femme for DKNY and With Love… Hilary Duff.
- She co-authored a trilogy of children’s books: Elixir (2010), which became a New York Times bestseller, Devoted (2011), and True (2013).
- She is currently the chief brand director for the home fragrance line, Below 60°.
In addition, she has had endorsement deals with Amazon and Baublebar, and is an investor in the makeup line Nudestix and the children’s clothing line Happy Little Camper.
“As I get older, I realize my power and my strength are creating things on my own and making them happen for myself,” she revealed to Entrepreneur.
Hilary Duff’s personal life
In 2001, Duff entered a relationship with actor Aaron Carter, who had guest-starred on an episode of Lizzie McGuire. Rumors surfaced of a love triangle between Carter, Duff, and Lindsay Lohan, even as Duff continued to date Carter on and off for three years.
Her next relationship generated just as many headlines when, in 2004, the 16-year-old began dating Good Charlotte singer Joel Madden, who was 25 at the time.
Duff’s 2026 single “Mature” is rumored to be about the experience:
“She looks like she could be your daughter / Like me before I got smarter / When I was flattered to hear you say / You’re so mature for your age.”

After their breakup in 2007, Duff began seeing NHL hockey player Mike Comrie, who played for the Ottawa Senators. The couple got married in 2010 and had one son, Luca, in 2012.
Duff and Comrie divorced in February 2015, citing irreconcilable differences. In 2017, Duff revealed she was dating music producer Matthew Koma. They were married on December 21, 2019, in the couple’s backyard. Duff has three daughters with Koma: Banks (b. 2018), Mae (b. 2021), and Townes (b. 2024).
Hilary Duff’s real estate portfolio
While Duff has lived on both coasts, she and Koma currently reside in Los Angeles.
Duff’s first home was a 10,000-square-foot mansion in the Toluca Lake suburb. She purchased it for $3.5 million in 2004 and sold it for $6.5 million in 2010.
Her current residence is a Beverly Hills farmhouse purchased for $3.85 million in 2010. In September 2020, Architectural Digest featured the home in its Open Door video series.
