PALS is an educational initiative by volunteers from the IIT-Alumni fraternity with the aim of enhancing engineering colleges, enabling them to produce industry ready graduates and inspired entrepreneurs.
PALS, an IIT alumni–led voluntary initiative, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with Immersive Technology & Entrepreneurship Labs (ITEL), IIT Madras and AIC Anna Incubator to mentor and support early-stage start-ups.
Through the MoU, ITEL and AIC Anna Incubator will support budding start-ups emerging from PALS’ network of over 67 partner institutions.
The MoU was signed at EDC 360° – A Conclave on Entrepreneurial Development at IIT Madras here on Saturday. The conclave brought together senior leaders from 40 engineering institutions with a focus on building stronger entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystems and equipping institutions to nurture future-ready engineers.

“PALS’ entrepreneurship forum has set a vision for itself to help create at least one successful start-up from every institution that partners with it. Today’s EDC conclave is a step to understand common issues, challenges and opportunities our institutions face so that we can fine-tune our offerings that will help them be successful in their journey to create successful entrepreneurs,” Mohan Narayanan, Governing Board Member, PALS said.
“Having a technical idea is not enough for a start-up. To pave the way to success, requiring guidance from seasoned faculty and industry experts is critical. Focus on local problems like water logging, urban transport and cyber security can lead to innovation. While not all students will become founders, 15 per cent can sustain the journey with the right nurturing,” he said.
The conclave saw a panel featuring heads and senior faculty from five PALS-partner colleges who discussed building campus innovation ecosystems including collaborations with industry and incubators and challenges and solutions in establishing a sustainable entrepreneurial development.
