Sun Pharmaceutical Industries announced Wednesday it has secured principal sponsorship of Royal Challengers Bengaluru for the T20 season 2026, marking India’s largest pharmaceutical company’s first cricket partnership. The three-year agreement makes Sun Pharma both the team’s principal sponsor and official health partner.
The Sun Pharma logo will appear on RCB’s playing jersey, match kit, and training apparel, along with stadium branding at home matches. This represents a major shift in corporate strategy for the Mumbai-based drugmaker, which has not previously entered cricket sponsorship.
Kirti Ganorkar, Managing Director of Sun Pharma, described cricket as a unifying force in India and positioned the partnership as a way to strengthen the company’s brand connection with consumers. The sponsorship follows Sun Pharma’s recent corporate campaign highlighting its reach of serving 1,000 patients per minute, based on prescription data from India and the United States.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru COO Rajesh Menon said the partnership would extend beyond visibility to include digital platforms and match-day experiences. RCB plays in India’s premier Twenty20 cricket league.
Sun Pharma operates globally across specialty generics, innovative medicines, and consumer healthcare, with manufacturing facilities on five continents. The company leads the Indian pharmaceutical market and ranks among the top generic drugmakers in the United States and emerging markets.
